InstallFest

TALUG and UT's Association for Computer Machinery (ACM) will be hosting an installfest at our meeting. Got a new machine (or even an old one) and need some help installing your favorite Linux distribution? Bring it in and we'll help you get it up and running. Please contact us beforehand with your distro requirements, so we know which distros to burn and bring in. The common and popular ones will be there, and we'll even let you keep the CDs.

The following people will be helping with installations:

Ryan Estep: Fedora, CentOS

Christopher Volny: Gentoo

Steven Cook: Arch Linux

If you would like to volunteer to help, please contact us with your full name and distribution you will be helping with.

PGP Key-signing Party

For those interested, we'll also be having a PGP key-signing party. If you'd like to participate, please contact us on our site here with the following details:

  • Your full name (as it appears on your key)
  • Your PGP key ID
  • Key fingerprint
  • The URL(s) where your key can be retrieved

We will be printing up lists of keys to pass out, so that you may verify your key to everyone else. Come help strengthen the web of trust!

The library provides free wifi access, and TALUG provides Linux distribution CDs free of charge.

We hope to see you there!
